Bavaria is full of tradition
Proudly we keep traditions alive and love to show them to our dear guests. Not like a show but as daily Bavarian life.
At weekends you might be able to watch a typical Bavarian Wedding Ceremony, local music evenings, or just see the locals going to church on Sundays in their traditional dresses. Local music clubs, Bavarian Theatre, Bavarian sport clubs, hut evenings, pilgrimage, brass concerts in the park, jodel courses and more . . .
Each first Sunday in September is dedicated to St. George (after our church St. George). If the weather is nice a horse parade through the whole village with many of the music groups takes place yearly. What a beautyful festival this is! From the Alpenhotel Wittelsbach it is the best place to watch them coming down the main road to walk to St. Valentin church for blessing. Approx. 200 horses take part and 3000 people come into Ruhpolding to watch the traditional Parade which dates back into the 16th century. After the parade Ruhpolding shops are all open and offers a wide range of attrations for young and old.
